THE BERGERON FAMILY!

Hi yall!

The BERGERON FAMILY was BAPTIZED! They are the BEST. Oh goodness. I love them SO much. They brought so many friends and family - and like half the ward showed up - we were in the chapel because we couldn't fit in the Relief Society room where the font is!! It was SUCH a beautiful service. They bore their testimonies at the baptism. They know the Book of Mormon is true, and told us yesterday they have been listening to President Monson's talks online. I will be coming back in a year when they're sealed!!

I love being a missionary. I love serving here in Orange. During these six months here, I really gained a testimony of the importance of charity. Charity truly never faileth. The members are such wonderful examples of charity as they do all they can in their power to help anyone in need.

I will see yall next week!

From Mexican ghetto/South of downtown Houston to....the country!

Hi friends and fam!

I am now serving in Orange County, TX and Vinton, LOUISIANA! Super country. And my new comp is Sister Bryn Larsen. She is from Provo and studying nursing at BYU. President is now putting STLs together - so we are both STLs! Its def been an adjustment because we are both used to being with young missionaries, but it is great! So much fun. It was funny at the transfer meeting we were already sitting next to each other bc we are friends and Pres called us together and we just screamed. So funny.

Anyways - we are whitewashing the area. Been an adventure. We are going around and meeting members. Last night met a woman who has squirrels as pets? Apparently that is like a country thing? I thought everyone out here just ate them..guess not.

The ward is great! So many wonderful families and a solid bishop. This place is diff than Broadway zone in every aspect. There is work to do here! Our area is HUGE. Bit overwhelming.

I love you all! Go to the beach for me! And enjoy going outside without getting attacked by bugs or humidity:) okay, thanks!

Love yoU!

Hello!
So first - transfers are tomorrow! Sister Long and I both get to stay! Yay! I am training again - so we'll be in a trio! President said I'll be training a visa waiter! That'll be fun! I am excited! But like everyone from our area is getting transferred! 7/11 of the missionaries in our ward are leaving! Crazy! And President asked me to be a Sister Training Leader! I'm excited, but I have a lot to learn!

One of our investigators came to church! He really enjoyed it and wants to come next week! We are finding a lot of progress with many of the people we are teaching right now! I know every thing is in God's timing..like a few weeks ago we didn't have anyone progressing! I am so excited i get to stay and serve here still!

I was reminded last night that I am serving in the ghetto! We had an appt with this lady and so we went there
around 6:45 ish last night. Her husband came to the door with a GUN! What the heck? He said it was too late and it was during the Superbowl haha.

Also, it is freezing. like wet cold. So gross. Can't chip off the ice from car with credit cards here like we can in UT. We have to use hot water. Weird.
Hope you all have a wonderful week!

Love you!

Now there are TWO Sis Walton's:)

Hi!
I hope everyone is doing well! I cannot believe Sadie is on a mission now!  So exciting! Off to Independence, Missouri in a couple days:) Makes me so happy!

These last few weeks have been a bit crazy. Exchanges, Interviews with Mission Pres and meeting some wonderful people! Last week we stopped at Jack-in-the-Box and this man (Empris) called out to us. He knows like EVERYTHING about the church and has a strong testimony of the Book of Mormon and knows Joseph Smith restored Christ's church back to the earth.  Used to be a Baptist preacher. He is planning on getting baptized on Feb 8th! He is absolutely crazy, and we've been meeting with him at Jack-in-the Box bc we think he is homeless? Anyways...good thing my comp wanted to stop in JitB that night:) That was a miracle!

Something that I have come to realize these past few weeks is that life is really so much easier if we follow the gospel of Christ. When we resist and/or don't follow His commandments, we are not happy and end up struggling. Anyways, I LOVE YOU ALL!

Ohhh- another miracle of the week - I lit a candle with ONLY ONE match.
Yes, usually takes me like an average of 5-10. So..I posted a picture to remember this.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hi!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! These past few weeks have been a bit weird with the holidays as everyone has been going out of town, etc, but its been fun! I love being out here! And I was able to skype with my beautiful fam on Christmas! I cannot believe Sadie is going on a mission NEXT WEEK! Time flies. She will be amazing!

On Christmas we were all at the church for a while and then at a member's home. I have a cute new comp - Sister Ashlee Long! She is from Idaho and is 19. We had a mini missionary with us last week, who was 16. Sort of like being with my sisters since they are the same ages...?

I love being out here! We are teaching some wonderful people about Christ, and it is so fun! I love it!

I love you all! Hope you have a wonderful week!

XOXOOXOXOX,
Sis Walton
